one week ago, I had the honor of walking my daughter through the door to the place where she'll be staying in my city until she can get on her feet. she cried, and I cried after I got home, because I don't cry easily in public. I had prayed and fasted so much for that moment, and God did so many miracles to get us here.
yesterday I taught her how to get to my house on the bus, and was proud of her for going home all by herself. I took her out for coffee, just like I had promised her. I told her how much I admired her for choosing to come to a brand new city. She is an amazing, brave, resilient twenty one year old that has needed to grow up too soon.
I have found no words to express the feelings behind the
tears when I realized my daughter chose to come live in my city. The daughter
who was born of my heart, who I lost and found again.
As I cooked dinner with her yesterday, listening to my dear girl sing every single word to our song, so much became right in my world.
